Oslo, 15 September 2021 (TDI): Norway has increased its humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan in 2021.
Foreign Minister of Norway Eriksen Soreide stated that the 19 Million population in Afghanistan needs assistance and protection. In the UN conference on 13 September 2021, Monday, the Foreign Minister of Norway participated. She announced an additional NOK 100 million humanitarian support to Afghanistan. She also pointed out that Norway had given a good amount of NOK 261 Million to humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan, even before the Taliban’s government.
Norway increased its assistance to find solutions to help Afghanistan in education and health services. According to the Foreign Minister of Norway, humanitarian aid will be handed over to organizations working in Afghanistan.
