Lahore, 20 August 2024 (TDI): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stressed on Tuesday that no changes in the tentative date for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 were on the cards.
The clarification comes amid media reports that the Champions Trophy, scheduled in Pakistan next year, could be rescheduled.
The board expressed disappointment over irresponsible reporting from some media outlets and said channels misquoted PCB chair Mohsin Naqvi’s statement regarding the possibility of a change of dates Champions Trophy.

It said at no point during his presser yesterday did the PCB chairman talk about the speculated change of schedule.
“During his media talk, which is available on the PCB’s official YouTube channel, the PCB chairman clearly stated that the redevelopment and redesign of the three designated stadia would be completed on schedule,” the statement said, adding that Pakistan was fully ready to host the first ICC event since 1994.
The cricket board had recently moved the second Test match between visiting Bangladesh and Pakistan from Karachi’s National Bank Stadium to Rawalpindi for the same reason.
Furthermore, the board is also planning to shift domestic matches from under-development stadiums to other venues to ensure uninterrupted construction work.
