Islamabad (TDI): The much-anticipated Gwadar International Airport has been officially completed. This marked a major milestone in Pakistan’s infrastructure development.
A ceremony, attended by Prime Minister and Chinese Prime Minister H.E. Li Qiang, was held today to celebrate the successful completion of the Airport.
The airport is poised to play a vital role in boosting Pakistan’s connectivity with the world and enhancing regional trade opportunities.
During the ceremony, the leaders highlighted the strategic importance of the Gwadar International Airport. The completion of this project marks the beginning of a new era for Gwadar and Pakistan as a whole.

This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a key hub for trade, tourism, and economic growth in the region. The new airport constructed with the assistance of Chinese investment under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Moreover, this designs to handle large aircraft, including Boeing 747s and Airbus A380s. It expects to facilitate increased cargo movement and air traffic, significantly improving Gwadar’s potential as a global trade and investment destination.
The facility will also help integrate the regions into Pakistan’s broader transport network. It promotes economic activity in the Balochistan province, a historically underdeveloped region.
With its completion, Gwadar will now become a key gateway for trade routes linking Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, driving future development in the region.

The Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) praised the timely completion of the project. On the other hand, PM Shehbaz Sharif also admired that Gwadar International Airport is a critical asset.
That will revolutionize connectivity and further enhance Pakistan’s role in regional and global trade.
However, Pakistan and China have signed multiple agreements to boost bilateral ties.
Chinese PM expressed his love, “I on the behalf of China thank to Pakistan for giving the gift of Gwadar which will not only prosper Pakistan but also support the progress of CPEC.”
The inauguration of Gwadar International Airport underscores the government’s commitment to infrastructural growth and its vision of turning Gwadar into a thriving commercial hub. PM Shehbaz Sharif stated, “the airport will play the role of game changer.”
