New Book on Xi’s Water Management Strategies

-

Beijing (TDI): The Central Party Literature Press has released a new compilation of excerpts from Xi Jinping’s discourses on water management, showcasing the Chinese leader’s vision and strategies for addressing the nation’s water-related challenges.

This publication is part of a broader effort to emphasize the importance of water security in China’s development agenda.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, the CPC, with Xi Jinping at its helm, has prioritized coordinated progress in several key areas: water-related disaster control, conservation of water resources, protection and restoration of water ecosystems, and effective management of water environments.

These initiatives have significantly improved water security across the nation, which is essential for sustainable development and ecological stability.

The newly published book is organized around six central themes that reflect Xi’s comprehensive approach to water management.

It brings together a total of 297 excerpts from over 130 of Xi’s important speeches and written works delivered between December 2012 and August 2024.

Notably, some of these passages are being released to the public for the first time, providing fresh insights into Xi’s policies and their implications for China’s water management strategies.

In his discourses, Xi emphasizes the interconnectedness of water resources with broader environmental and developmental goals.

He advocates for a holistic approach that considers the protection of water ecosystems as vital to ensuring long-term water security and sustainable economic growth.

Xi’s Views, China’s Commitment to Addressing Climate Change

Xi’s views also align with China’s ongoing commitment to addressing climate change and promoting environmental sustainability.

The publication of this compilation comes at a critical time as China faces increasing challenges related to water scarcity, pollution, and the impacts of climate change on water resources.

By highlighting Xi’s discourses, the CPC aims to reinforce the narrative of responsible governance and proactive measures in the face of these challenges.
