Nepal pays condolences to US following Devastating Floods

Kathmandu, 3 September 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Ministry of Nepal sent their deepest condolences to the United States on experiencing a heavy storm and devastating floods all across the country.

The lethal flood that hit the USA has caused many casualties. At least 46 people have died as a result of the storm in the Northeast so far. In total, at least 59 people have died as a result of Ida storm in eight states. This included three people of Nepali origin. For the first time in New York City, a flash flood emergency was proclaimed after subway stations turned into waterfalls and Midtown streets turned into rivers.

The message sent by the Nepali government clearly stated that at this time of calamity, the Nepali people stand in solidarity with the people of the United States. The thoughts are with the families that have been affected.
