Islamabad (TDI): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, where he was received by Ambassador Jiang Zedong.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism, security coordination, and police exchange programs, along with a broader review of the regional security environment. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening joint efforts to address emerging challenges.
A key outcome of the discussion was the decision to organize a business conference aimed at addressing security concerns faced by Chinese investors in Pakistan. According to officials, the initiative will be carried out in phases. Initially, consultations will be held with Chinese business representatives already operating in Pakistan, followed by engagements with potential investors interested in entering the Pakistani market.
To further improve security arrangements, the Interior Minister announced the establishment of a Special Protection Unit dedicated to safeguarding foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens in Islamabad. He noted that personnel assigned to the unit would receive specialized training, including basic Chinese language skills, to enhance coordination and communication.

The meeting comes amid continued efforts to strengthen economic and strategic ties between Pakistan and China. A day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Ambassador Jiang to review bilateral cooperation and ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, particularly its next phase focusing on agriculture, industry, and infrastructure development.
During that interaction, the Prime Minister congratulated Chinese leadership on the successful conclusion of the “Two Sessions” and appreciated Beijing’s continued support. Ambassador Jiang, in turn, acknowledged Pakistan’s economic resilience and reform efforts, reaffirming China’s commitment to expanding cooperation in trade and investment.

Both sides reiterated their resolve to further strengthen the longstanding “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” and expressed interest in marking the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations with high-level exchanges, while continuing close coordination on regional and global issues of mutual concern.
