Chișinău, 7 January 2023 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Moldova, Nicu Popescu met with the Director at the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, Janis Sarts as they discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two.

The two met at the Communications Center of Excellence to discuss issues in the area of strategic communication, public diplomacy, and countering disinformation.

On the issue of strategic communication, they talked about how they will be able to work together as a country and organization to promote better communication systems in the region.

Poor communication between the organization and member countries has been a great worry for the organization. Seeking to ensure that there is proper dissemination of information is key to every organization and body.

The issue of public diplomacy was also deliberated upon. Pursuing public diplomacy to protect the interest of its members is a good sign of strength. The two sides discussed the ways to ensure that the public diplomacy of Moldova and NATO is protected.

Moldova joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has greatly supported the organization. It is pertinent to note that, Moldova has contributed much of its resources to the success of the organization, said the Foreign Minister of Moldova.

Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu in his statement made it clear that the aim to promote development among the people of Moldova is critical in all their dealings with NATO.

He emphasized that peace and unity should be the top priority of any nation seeking to develop and NATO is working hard with the Moldova government to ensure that there is stable peace in the region.

While Janis Sarts on his part stated that they will continue to work closely with their partner and ally Moldova as they have been of great support to the organization.

In line with the above, he again added that they are seeking to roll out stronger activities to ensure that all member countries obey all their rules.
