Mohsin Naqvi, Qatar Envoy Discuss Cooperation

Islamabad (TDI): Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, called on Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, they also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in different fields.

The release of Pakistani citizens imprisoned in Qatar also came under discussion.

Moreover, both sides agreed to increase cooperation in combating narcotics.

The envoy invited Naqvi to visit Qatar.

The Interior Minister said that Pakistan has very close ties with Qatar.

“I will visit Qatar soon and meet my counterpart”, he said.

He added that a conference of Gulf nations on Narcotics control will be organised in Islamabad in April.

The head of Qatar’s drug control department has been invited to participate in this event, he said.

Naqvi stressed the significance of close cooperation with friendly nations in combating narcotics.

The Qatari envoy said that Pakistan is a brotherly Islamic country and Qatar attaches great significance to the bilateral ties.
