MOFA Pakistan congratulates China on it’s National Day

Islamabad, 1 October 2021 (TDI): Asim Iftikhar, Spokesperson Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan sends heartfelt felicitations to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on its National Day.

People’s Republic of China celebrates its national day on October 1st. National Day of China has been celebrated in various ways during the history of PRC. On October 1st, 1949, Chairman Mao Zedong declared the foundation of People’s Republic of China. This declaration of foundation followed a civil war in which communist forces defeated the Nationalist administration.

Later in the end of same year, Chinese government passed a resolution, declaring October 1st as the national day of China.

Pakistan and China established their diplomatic relations in 1951. Since then, both states have enjoyed a close and mutually beneficial relationship. Pakistan is one of the first countries to recognize China in 1950.

Both countries have collaborated in many areas including cooperation on large-scale infrastructure projects in Pakistan. The collaboration on projects in Pakistan includes power plant, highways, gold and copper mines and various nuclear power projects. China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a flagship project of Belt and Road Initiative between Pakistan and China.

The two states also share defense trade and strategic engagements. Moreover, the growing number of Sino-Pak military exercises are enhancing partnership between the two militaries.
