Ministers of Pakistan and Sweden met for Trade Cooperation

Pakistan, 9 June 2023 (TDI): Minister of State Hina Rabbani Khar recently met with Johan Forssell, Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade.

During the meeting, they discussed and evaluated Pakistan-Sweden bilateral relations, as well as exchanged opinions on various areas of cooperation.

Enhancing cooperation in renewable energy and sustainable technology was one of the main topics highlighted.

Both ministers pointed out the significance of shifting to clean sources of energy that are renewable in order to combat climate change and achieve sustainable development.

They looked into candidates for partnership in renewable energy projects, including solar and wind power, that can help Pakistan meet its energy needs while reducing environmental damage.

The ministers also discussed ICT (Information and Communication Technology) cooperation.

They recognized the importance of digital technology in economic growth and innovation, and they explored ways to enhance collaboration in areas like as digital infrastructure, e-governance, and digital skills development.

This cooperation has the possibility of motivating the use of ICT tools and platforms to improve efficiency, connection, and service delivery.

Another topic of conversation was the export of skilled labor. Pakistan has plenty of talented and skilled individuals, and both ministers realized the possibility of working together to bring skilled Pakistani workers to Sweden.
