Islamabad (TDI): Federal Minister for Privatization, Board of Investment and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan proposed an on arrival visa for Pakistanis at Uzbek airports on Wednesday.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Uzbek Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev in Islamabad.
“Those travelling to Europe and America from Pakistan can be provided with a tourist visa of 48 to 72 hours on arrival at Uzbek Airports which will bring the people of both countries closer,” the minister proposed.
Aleem also suggested that Uzbekistan should send its tourism companies to Pakistan and invited them to invest in other communication projects in Pakistan besides the construction of Motorways.

He also expressed Pakistan’s interest in promoting bilateral trade and cooperation with Uzbekistan and suggested that the Uzbek investors open Display Centers in Pakistan.
The minister also stated that the nations are united by a single bond of history, culture, and religion.

For his part, Uzbek Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev echoed Aleem’s desire to increase trade, cultural and other relations with Pakistan in future.
The two dignitaries also discussed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to Uzbekistan next month. Both sides agreed that the heads of government’s visit would further improve bilateral ties.
