Beijing (TDI): In response to mounting tensions in the Middle East, China has voiced strong opposition to actions undermining the sovereignty and security of nations, as well as the abuse of force.
The statement, issued by China’s Foreign Ministry on Monday, follows recent developments, including Israel’s strike on Iranian territory, and underscores Beijing’s stance on promoting stability in the region.
Speaking at a press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian urged all involved parties to avoid escalating security risks further.
Lin emphasized that the international community, particularly influential nations, should actively seek de-escalation measures to promote stability.
“Concrete actions are required to play a constructive role and create the necessary conditions to defuse regional tensions,” he said.

The call for restraint comes as Iran appealed to the United Nations Security Council, demanding a meeting over what it called an “illegal act” by Israel, which struck targets in Iran on Saturday.
Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, affirmed on Sunday that while Tehran is not seeking war, it will defend its sovereignty and will respond proportionately to Israel’s actions.
