Later, Venezuela and Bolivia also joined the organization and are still complying with the additional procedures. Furthermore, the primary goal of MERCOSUR has been to encourage an environment where national economies have immense competition.

Thereby, the economies have been integrated competitively into the world market thus opening opportunities for investment and business.

Moreover, the process has created many agreements with the countries and parties.
MERCOSUR celebrated its 24th anniversary on 24th July 2022.

MERCOSUR was re-affirmed as the zone for peace and cooperation in the region on Thursday during the last conference of the organization. This was done in order to consolidate solidarity with International law.

The Political Proclamation of Bolivia, MERCOSUR, and Chile as a Zone of Peace basically entails the continent as a zone free of weapons of mass destruction.

Also, the declaration is dedicated to pursuing justice socially where there prevail social problems and injustices in the region.

Moving ahead the member countries proclaimed in the declaration that peace is a very important element for the continuity and development of the MERCOSUR’s process of integration.

In addition to that, they decided to work together in the appropriate international forums to advance the consolidation of international agreements. The agreements have been aimed at establishing peace and stability across the region.

In the forum, there had also been discussions about strengthening the methodologies for cooperation. Also, the consultation on security, as well as issues currently existing between the countries, was also keenly observed.
