The Ukrainian Olympic Team has 45 athletes for the Winter Olympic Games. As the Games already started; some of them already had their respective events, some are scheduled for today, and also some are set to compete in the next few days.

This part of the profile covers the next 15 athletes of the team; and also their respective disciplines.

VALENTYNA KAMINSKA 

She was born on September 5, 1987, in Mahilyow, Belarus. Until 2018 she represented Belarus and started to represent Ukraine as a cross-country skier. Furthermore, Kaminska has been part of three Olympic Winter Games, in 2014 and 2018, and now 2022.

In the 2014 Games, she ended in the 47th position, failing to advance to the knockout stages, and in the next Games, she participated in four events. Moreover, Kaminska announced her transition to the Ukrainian team in 2018.

Later in 2022, she qualified for the 2022 Olympic Games and also received the nomination to join the team.

ANTON KORCHUK

He was born on August 4, 2004, and is a ski jumper. Furthermore, Korchuk first represented Ukraine at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Swiss Lausanne. Moreover, he debuted at the World Championships in 2021.

Korchuk received the nomination and also qualified for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games of Beijing. Furthermore, he currently competed at the event of his discipline.

DMYTRO KOTOVSKYI

He was born on 8 November 2001 in Rivne, Ukraine. Also, Kotovskyi is a freestyle skier with a specialization in aerials. Furthermore, he is a student of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport.

His World Championships debut was at the 2021 Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He was finished 6th in the individual competition, the best among Ukrainians; and 5th in the mixed team event.

Kotovskyi received his nomination to be part of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, which is currently happening.

IVAN KOVBASNYUK

He was born on May 18, 1993, in Yasinia, Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine. His specialization is alpine skiing, and Kovbasnyuk participated in the 2018 Winter Games. He later classified and received the nomination to join the Olympic Team for the 2022 Olympic Games.

OLEKSII KRASOVSKYI

He was born on March 30, 1994, in Rokytne, Rivne Oblast, Ukraine. Krasovskyi is a cross-country skier. Furthermore, Krasovskyi competed at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics, and two years later qualified to represent Ukraine at the 2014 Olympic Games.

He finished 69th in the 15km classical race and 81st in sprint competitions. Krasovskyi qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games, where he achieved 50th rank in 50 km classical style mass start.

He qualified and already competed for the Ukrainian team at the current Olympic Games in Beijing. Krasovskyi ended his competitions at 77th position, 58th, 64th.

YULIIA KROL

She is a cross country skier and was born on 22 October 1998. Krol started her international career in 2016 with her participation at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics. She qualified to represent Ukraine for the first time at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

ANDRII LYSETSKYI

He was born on 10 February 1998, and he is a luger athlete. Lysetskyi debuted at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. He is currently studying at the Lviv Polytechnic.

In 2022, he qualified and received the nomination to join the Ukrainian Olympic Team for the current Olympic Games in Beijing.

ANDRIY MANDZIY

He was born on 19 February 1988 in Kremenets, Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine. Mandziy is a luger athlete and debuted internationally during the 2008-2009 season. Furthermore, Mandziy first represented Ukraine at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games; where he was 31st in the men’s singles event.

On 27 December 2017, Mandziy obtained his ticket for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. There he finished 40th in the singles’ race due to losing control over his luge during the first race.

Mandziy qualified to be part of the current Olympic Games in Beijing. There he finished two of his competences at 17th position, and one at 32nd.

YEVHEN MARUSIAK

He was born on March 16, 2000, and he is a ski jumper. Moreover, Marusiak started his international career by representing Ukraine at the 2017 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival.

In 2019, Marusiak participated for the first time at the World Championships. In 2022, he qualified to participate in his first Winter Olympic Games celebrated in Beijing, China. He finished his participation at 50th position in one race, 47th in another, then in 49th, and 48th in his first race.

He was born on January 19, 1999, in Kremenets, Ukraine. Mazurchuk is a Nordic combined skier and former ski jumper. He started representing Ukraine when Mazurchuk competed at the 2015 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival.

In 2018, he changed his specialization to be a Nordic combined skier. Moreover, he has participated in three World Championships. Mazurchuk qualified for the Winter Olympic Games in 2022 and it’s his first time in the Games and also representing Ukraine.

Mazurchuk already had his first two races where he finished at 35th and 36th. He is set to compete at the 10km high individual trampoline.

OLEKSANDRA NAZAROVA

She was born on 30 November 1996, she is an ice dance skater, and also her partner is Maksym Nikitin. Both are the 2017 Winter Universiade champions, 2014 CS Warsaw Cup silver medalists, 2016 Cup of Nice bronze medalists, six-time Ukrainian national champions (2015, 2017, 2018, 2020–2022).

Their first Winter Olympic Games were the ones in Pyeonchang in 2018. There they finished in the 21st position, their result in the World Championships in 2021 gave them a ticket for the Ukrainian team.

Nazarova was the co-flag bearer at the Inauguration alongside Oleksandr Abramenko. Both finished ninth of ten teams, and in the other event were twentieth in the rhythm dance, and were the last team to qualify for the free dance.

MAKSYM NIKITIN

He was born on 5 October 1994, an ice skating dancer, and as mentioned before he is Nazarova’s partner. Nazarova/Nikitin debuted on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in 2010. Nazarova/Nikitin won the silver medal at the Warsaw Cup, a Challenger Series event in November 2014.

In the 2015 World Junior Championships, they won the bronze medal, and it was Ukraine’s first podium finish at the event since 2000. During the 2016-2017 season, Nazarova/Nikitin opened their season with a bronze medal at the International Cup of Nice.

In February, they received the gold medal at the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty, Kazakhstan. They have participated two times in the Winter Olympic Games in 2018 and 2022.

ANASTASIYA NOVOSAD 

She was born on May 8, 1993, in Rivne, Ukraine, and she is a freestyle skier with a specialization in aerials. Novosad represented Ukraine at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, and due to pregnancy, she wasn’t able to qualify for the 2018 Games.

Four years later she qualified for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games after having her pregnancy break, from which she returned for the 2019-2020 season.

He was born on born 4 September 1998 in Berehove, Ukraine, Okipniuk is a freestyle skier with a specialization in aerials. His international debut was on the 2012 European Cup stage in Bukovel, Ukraine.

Furthermore, he has been a permanent member of the Ukrainian national team since the 2018–19 season. His first participation at the World Championships in the 2021 edition in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

He qualified to compete in the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, China.
