Male, 13 October 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid sent National Day greetings to Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, José Manuel Albares Bueno. On the auspicious occasion of the National day of Spain, Abdulla Shahid sent a message of felicitations.
He conveyed warm greetings and sincere good wishes on the joyous occasion. He sent good wishes from the Officials and the people of Maldives to the Government and the people of Spain.
Male and Madrid have maintained strong bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1979. Both countries have cooperated in areas of mutual interest. Bilateral cooperation is included in areas of counter-terrorism, climate change, and sustainable development.
Maldivian Foreign Minister hoped that the Maldives-Spain relations will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
