Male, 27 September 2021 (TDI): Maldivian Foreign Minister and the President of 76th UNGA, Abdulla Shahid congratulated Turkmenistan on its Independence Day.
He sent the congratulatory message through Twitter. Maldivian Foreign Minister also sent warm wishes to the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov. Both countries aim to establish improved diplomatic ties and cooperation. The Maldivian leader also prayed for Turkmenistan’s success and prosperity.
This year, Turkmenistan celebrates the 30th year of its Independence. 27th September is observed as a National holiday. In 2017, after reviewing Turkmenistan’s public holidays, Independence Day moved from October 27th to September 27th. This was done so that the 10-day Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) hosted in Turkmenistan would end on Independence Day.
