Tripoli, 25 September 2021 (TDI): Najla El-Mangoush, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Libya conducted a virtual meeting with Samantha Power, the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development, through Zoom. The meeting began with congratulating remarks by the US Director Samantha Power to the Libyan Minister, Najla-El Mangoush for being Libya’s first female Foreign Minister.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the credibility and transparency of Libya’s Presidential and Parliamentary elections at the end of the year. The USAID’s Administrator, Samantha Power lauded Minister Najla El-Mangoush’s June announcement of a cabinet meeting in Tripoli to discuss stability, which would take place on 21 October.
While discussing, Samantha Power also emphasized that the US is with Libya in delivering support and stability in the Libyan political transition. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla El-Mangoush, also reviewed the government’s achievements in maintaining national unity to bring peace and development to the country.
