Beirut, 25 October 2021 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdullah Bouhabib, met with the Brazilian Ambassador, Armano Ribaro.
At the meeting, they reviewed the fruitful bilateral relations that unite the two countries in light of the presence of a large Lebanese community. As well, the Brazilian Ambassador told the Foreign Minister that his country attaches the situation in Lebanon a special priority.
Furthermore, both representatives exchanged perspectives on future trade cooperation and joint economic projects. Hence, the meeting dealt with the end of negotiations on the draft of the Free Trade Agreement between Lebanon and Mercosur. Likewise, Ambassador Ribaro revealed that Brazil will provide about 4,000 tons of rice starting next December. The Lebanese minister thanked the ambassador for his efforts and support and noted that these contributions help Lebanon in its economic recovery process.
