Latvia establishes Diplomatic Relations with South Sudan

New York, 26 September 2021 (TDI): Edgars Rinkevics, the Latvian Foreign Minister on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly met with Deng Dau, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of South Sudan.

In the meeting, representing Latvia, Edgars Rinvekics signed an agreement with the South Sudanese Foreign Minister on the creation of diplomatic relations with South Sudan. Latvia recognized South Sudan as an independent state.

Latvia believes in cooperation with the United Nations member states and has diplomatic relations with 190 members of the UN.
