Lahore (TDI): The Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has warned the government that several petrol pumps in the province, especially in the Lahore Division, will soon run dry due to the closure of roads amid Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ongoing protest.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of Punjab, the PSO stated that most petrol pumps in the province, especially in the Lahore Division, are facing a shortage of petrol and diesel due to the closure of roads.

“The closure of highways has significantly delayed fuel transportation, resulting in acute risk of stock depletion at fuel station,” the letter read.
It warned that the existing stocks will soon deplete if the supplies do not resume on Tuesday.
The government has blocked major roads and highways due to the ongoing protest call by PTI founder Imran Khan in the federal capital.

Large contingents of security forces have also been deployed across the city and a holiday was declared in the city’s schools on Monday as well as on Tuesday.
