Lahore, 20 April 2023 (TDI): The Lahore Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International recently hosted an Iftar event, which was attended by the Consul General (CG) of Pakistan to Chicago, Tariq Karim.
During his remarks, CG Karim highlighted the rapidly growing trade and economy of Pakistan and emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation under the Lahore-Chicago Sister City arrangement.
Moreover, CG Karim expressed his gratitude to the Lahore Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International for organizing the Iftar event and providing a platform for strengthening people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and the Midwest.
Also, he highlighted the great potential for enhancing trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States (US).
He noted that Pakistan’s economy has great potential for investment in various sectors, including agriculture, information technology, and energy.

CG Karim also emphasized the importance of cultural and educational exchanges between Pakistan and the US.

About Lahore-Chicago Sister City relationship
For the information, the Lahore Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International is a non-profit organization that aims to promote cultural, educational, and economic ties between Lahore and Chicago.
The Sister City relationship between both cities was established in 2007 and has since led to numerous exchanges and collaborations between the two cities.
