Kyrgyzstan to Issue $1.7b in Eurobonds for First Time

Bishkek (TDI): Kyrgyzstan is preparing to issue Eurobonds worth $1.7 billion with a 10-year maturity period.

The bonds will be denominated in US dollars, euros, Chinese yuan, UAE dirhams, Hong Kong dollars, and the Kyrgyz som.

The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan has summarized its 2024 financial results and outlined its plans for the current year.

Finance Minister Almaz Baketaev said that the country’s recent financial policies have played major role in rebuilding the economy.

“This issuance of Eurobonds will be aimed at implementing priority projects in the energy sector,” according to Umutzhan Amanbayev, director of the Central Treasury at the Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry of Finance believes that the country’s stable budget surplus, positive economic indicators, infrastructure development, and large-scale reforms continue to boost its position in international financial rankings, attracting greater attention from global investors.
