Bishkek, 25 February 2023 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zheenbek Kulubaev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar, Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Suleiti.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to improve the political discourse between the two nations, including planning future high-level visits at both the highest & lowest levels, hosting joint events & signing papers on both sides of the border while there.

The significance of bolstering the legal system was emphasized by Minister Kulubaev as the foundation for expanding cooperation in the political, commercial, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

He also emphasized the need for Kyrgyzstan to expedite the completion of social and humanitarian initiatives.

In order to put the agreements made during the negotiations into effect, the parties decided at the conclusion of the conference to work together and stay in close contact.

Qatar-Kyrgyzstan Diplomatic Ties

The Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the State of Qatar was signed in Moscow on March 3, 1998, establishing diplomatic ties between the two countries in March 1998.

Since then, up to 20 agreements, memorandums, and protocols have been inked between the two nations, including the Agreement on Economic, Commercial, and Technical Cooperation.

Kyrgyzstan has excellent opportunities in the market in Qatar. It serves as a spur for new digital businesses, including Kyrgyz companies, to establish themselves and grow in the area.

The Agreement on Mutual Promotion and Protection of Investments and the Memorandum on Cooperation in the Area of Tourism has also been approved by the nations.

High-level delegation exchange trips occur between the two nations. Currently, about 500 Kyrgyz workers are employed by different Qatari businesses. The two countries are trying to cooperate in every possible area.
