Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan Open Doors to Digital Nomads

Bishkek (TDI): Kyrgyzstan has announced a landmark initiative to attract foreign specialists in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector by officially launching a “Digital Nomad” status.

The move follows the signing of legislative amendments by President Sadyr Japarov, aiming to position the Central Asian country as a hub for remote professionals.

Under the new provisions, digital nomads will enjoy several key benefits, including exemption from mandatory registration at their place of residence and the ability to obtain a personal identification number (PIN).

Furthermore, they will not be required to secure work permits, can engage in entrepreneurial ventures either as individuals or legal entities, and will be eligible to open local bank accounts.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, which spearheaded the amendments, highlighted the initiative’s multifaceted objectives.
