Berlin (TDI): Kyrgyzstan is poised to boost its agricultural exports to the European Union (EU) following an agreement with British certification firm Intertek, aimed at aligning the country’s products with international quality standards.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Kyrgyz Economy and Commerce Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev and Intertek’s Vice President for Government and Trade Services, Jeremy Gaspar, in Berlin.
The agreement is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Kyrgyz products in EU markets by improving certification processes and ensuring compliance with global benchmarks.
Officials from the Ministry of Economy expressed optimism about the project’s potential to not only increase agricultural exports but also modernize the country’s quality assurance systems.
The partnership is part of a broader strategy to expand export capacity and explore opportunities in other sectors, including the garment industry, which has significant growth potential.
