XI’AN, (TDI): In a significant step towards strengthening bilateral economic ties, Kyrgyzstan and China signed ten trade and investment agreements worth over $50 million at a business forum held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province.
The event was organized to enhance cooperation between the two countries, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture, industry, energy, tourism, technology, and investment.
The Kyrgyz-Chinese business forum brought together more than 200 delegates, including government officials, representatives from ministries, agencies, and entrepreneurs from both nations.
The forum offered a platform for meaningful discussions on expanding trade relations and forging new business partnerships.
The forum’s discussions emphasized sectors of mutual interest such as agriculture, where Kyrgyzstan seeks to leverage China’s expertise in modern farming technologies.
The energy sector also received significant attention, with talks on potential cooperation in renewable energy and infrastructure development.

Additionally, tourism was highlighted as a key area for growth, with Kyrgyzstan positioning itself as an attractive destination for Chinese tourists.

A key focus of the forum was the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China’s ambitious infrastructure and trade network that aims to enhance connectivity across Asia and beyond.
Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to aligning their development strategies with the BRI to boost regional trade and investment.
Strengthening Bilateral Relations
The agreements signed at the forum are part of Kyrgyzstan’s broader strategy to deepen ties with China, its largest trading partner.
Kyrgyzstan views these collaborations as critical for its economic development, particularly in attracting foreign direct investment and diversifying its export base.
