Kyrgyz Foreign Minister held meeting with Cyprus Counterpart

New York, 21 September 2021 (TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Ruslan Kazakbaev held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, Nikos Christodulidis.

Current issues of Kyrgyz-Cypriot bilateral cooperation were discussed during the meeting. It included the forthcoming 30th anniversary of the two countries’ beginning of diplomatic relations in 2022. Proposals for increasing the legal framework between the two countries were discussed by both parties. Kyrgyz head has invited a high-level Cypriot team. In order to participate in the First Economic Forum “European Union-Central Asia.” This will take place in Bishkek on November 5, 2021.

Cypriot Minister expressed interest in the further development of Kyrgyz-Cypriot relations. He stated that Cyprus is willing to develop a constructive cooperation with Kyrgyzstan on a wide range of issues. They discussed the possibility of taking collaborative actions to help stabilize the situation in Afghanistan. Along with mitigating the implications for the regional countries, including Kyrgyzstan.
