Parachinar (TDI): Fresh clashes between rival tribes in Kurram district left at least 6 more people killed and 20 injured on Friday increasing toll to 47 dead and around 100 injured.
Last week clashes erupted between rival tribes in different areas of the district that caused causalities and today the fight continued into the eighth day.
Initially dispute reportedly started between Boshehra and Ahmadzai Tribes over setting up some bunkers , and quickly engulfed other areas as well.
Killing and injuries were reported from Balishkhel, Sadda, Khar Kallay, Peewar, Maqbal and other areas in the last seven days. The main Parachinar Highway and other roads in the area were closed partially due to the security situation and traffic jam.

Eye witness told several media organizations that due to armed clashes people are facing difficulties in routine life.
A day earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur said that the government is taking serious steps to maintain law and order in southern districts.
He hinted at increasing number of check posts, police and capacity building in the areas.
Kurram District’s status was changed when FATA’s areas were given status of districts. Earlier, Kurram area was administered as tribal area with its local administration’s head called Political Agent. Still the former FATA’s areas are lacking some facilities including stuffiest police force.
