Riyadh, 11 September 2023 (TDI): In a humanitarian gesture, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman have issued directives to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief).
To initiate an air bridge operation to provide essential relief supplies to the victims of the devastating earthquake in Morocco.
This significant effort underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to aiding those affected by crises and disasters around the world.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Advisor to the Royal Court and General Supervisor of KSRelief, announced the directives and highlighted the King and Crown Prince’s keenness to support the Moroccan people during this challenging time.
The earthquake, which struck near Marrakesh city, resulted in substantial human casualties and extensive property damage, with over 2,100 people losing their lives and thousands more injured.
As part of the relief operation, Saudi Arabia will dispatch its search and rescue team from the General Directorate of Civil Defense, along with teams from the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, under the leadership of KSRelief.
Their mission is not only to provide essential humanitarian assistance but also to rescue individuals trapped under the rubble of buildings.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah says that the search and rescue team’s mission is to rescue those trapped and provide assistance to those affected by the earthquake that has distressed the brotherly people of Morocco.
