Munich, 19 February 2023 (TDI): The Foreign Ministry of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) declared that the Saudi delegation attended the Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2023 to promote regional stability and global collaboration.

The participation of Saudi Arabia in the MSC 2023 was notable by the presence of both the Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Climate Envoy, Adel Aljubeir, along with other diplomatic personnel.
Both leaders demonstrated the Kingdom’s support for the climate change agenda and global energy security.
Address by Foreign Minister
Faisal bin Farhan addressed in a panel discussion titled, “The Geostrategic Role of Middle Eastern Countries.” The discussion aimed at discussing Kingdom’s initiatives to combat terrorism and extremism.
Faisal emphasized the value of teamwork in addressing the security issues the region faces. He reaffirmed the country’s dedication to peacefully resolving the problems in Yemen and Iran while discussing the Russia-Ukraine Crisis.
Foreign Minister criticized Israel’s West Bank settlement development. He expressed solidarity with the Palestinians and advocated establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
During the discussion, Faisal highlighted the importance of energy security and stability as a pillar of international security.
Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of international cooperation in tackling energy security concerns. He claimed that Saudi Arabia is dedicated to meeting the world’s energy demands sustainably and securely.
Moreover, Faisal Bin Farhan added that they understand that no country can solve these problems independently. KSA is eager to collaborate with allies to create workable solutions that benefit everyone.
Address by Climate Envoy
Adel Aljubeir, the Kingdom’s Climate Envoy, discussed the climate problem and the transition to clean energy in MSC. He reiterated that Saudi Arabia acknowledged the difficulties of climate change. It is determined to do its share to address them.
He added that they are actively pursuing policies and measures to assist in the transition to clean energy. They look forward to collaborating with their partners to achieve their shared objectives.

The Minister emphasized the Kingdom’s efforts toward these objectives. He said that they achieved considerable progress in boosting their renewable energy capacity and energy efficiency.
Aljubeir also reaffirmed that they are devoted to advancing in this approach and securing a sustainable future for the world and their nation.
Furthermore, the Saudi delegation participated in many panel discussions and bilateral talks with other world leaders to address matters of common concern, such as regional security, economic development, and counterterrorism activities.
The Saudi Vision 2030 was also discussed during the Munich Security Conference. The Kingdom’s ambitious plan to emphasize energy efficiency and create renewable energy sources is explained there.
The delegation utilized the opportunity to highlight the country’s progress in implementing its Vision 2030 economic and social reform plan, which aims to diversify the country’s economy and improve inhabitants’ quality of life.
