Karachi, 30 November 2021(TDI): Ambassador of Republic of Korea Suh Sangpyo on his visit to Pakistan’s largest Business hub Karachi met leading CEOs from different business enterprises.
On the occasion, Ambassador met with Arif Habib, Ehsan Malik, Abbas Akberali, Asad Ali Shah, Bashir Ali Mohammad, Nadeem Kazmi, Sohail Shams, Sulaiman Mehdi, and Kalim Farooqui along with the Consul General of Korea in Karachi, Kim Haksung.
During the meeting, each participant shared about the potential for trade and investment between Pakistan and Korea. Ambassador Sangpyo said that Korean Companies are looking for Pakistan as a future destiny. While sharing the existing joint ventures, the Ambassador of Korea said that He will share the potential with the Korean Companies interested to invest in Pakistan.
Furthermore, the Ambassador of Korea said that there are Korean Business giants like Samsung, Hyundai Motors and LG Electronics already have a strong presence in the Pakistani market and even in every household.
An interactive session followed with each participant briefing the Ambassador and his visiting team about the sectors which hold good possibilities with joint ventures with Korean Companies for both equity participation and technical collaboration with Pakistani business houses.
Ambassador was of the view that the existing figures related to trade and investments between the two friendly countries have the potential to increase manifold.
Investment Facilitation from Korea Embassy in Pakistan and Embassy of Pakistan in KoreaÂ
The embassy of Korea here in Pakistan and Pakistan’s Mission in Korea are facilitating the potential to build bilateral trade. Pakistan’s Mission in Korea also has an active Commercial Section that is looking to facilitate Korean investment in Pakistan. This section is committed to enhancing Pakistan’s image as the investment hub and marketing the opportunities to attract Korean companies to Pakistan. Similarly, the Embassy of Korea in Pakistan is providing and offering services to the investors and supporting them in finding collaborations and JV partners.
