London, 23 November 2022 (TDI): President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa’s arrival at the United Kingdom (UK) was welcomed by King Charles, the Monarch of the United Kingdom, and Camilla the Queen Consort.

At the Horse Guards Parade in London, they met to welcome him for his two-day visit. The President of South Africa during his trip will visit many important places. Some of these include Westminster Abbey before going for the Royal dinner.

King Charles hosted the first state visit since he became the British Monarch, this is to welcome Cyril Ramaphosa. As part of the ceremony of the visit, the King will roll out the traditional pomp and ceremony for the first time as the head of State.

Cyril Ramaphosa and his wife upon their arrival were received by the Royal family. The visit will serve to strengthen the diplomatic ties between the two countries as Britain seeks to bolster its relations with its trade partner in Africa.

South Africa has been a good partner in all forms of diplomacy ranging from cultural to business diplomacy. Britain has always hoped to visit South Africa since when the Queen was alive.

South Africa during the time of Jacob Zuma, former President of South met with Charles and Camilla. South Africa-UK relations have always been very cordial. Both countries have been great Allies, friends, and trade partners.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will use this opportunity to promote its relations on the various support needed to facilitate their relations. During the visit, he will also seek to meet with most British political leaders in the country.

Prince William, the Prince of Wales with his wife Kate will greet President Cyril Ramaphosa and his wife Tshepo Motsepe as part of the Royal custom of the United Kingdom.
