Khaled Hosseini requests for donations for Afghan people

-

Geneva, 15 August 2021(TDI): Khaled Hosseini, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, and Author, requests people around the world for donations for Afghans as intense fighting in Afghanistan has forced almost 300,000 Afghans to flee their country since the beginning of the year. In a video shared on UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency’s Twitter account Khaled Hosseini says UNHCR needs help to deliver lifesaving relief. He further says “Afghanistan is one of the largest displacement crises of our time, and this is the latest heartbreaking emergency but you can help save lives. Please consider making a gift now.” He makes this request as UNHCR’s stocks are running low and urgently need support to scale up their supplies as the situation worsens in Afghanistan. In order to assist internally displaced people and refugees forced to flee to neighboring countries UNHCR, UN Refugee Agency needs urgent help from people around the world.
