Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan to Build Joint Petrochemical Complex

Astana (TDI): Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have agreed to jointly develop a petrochemical complex for the production of linear alkylbenzene (LAB), following the signing of a framework agreement between KazMunayGas and Uzbekneftegaz during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Uzbekistan.

The agreement formalizes the parties’ collaboration on studying and implementing the investment project, paving the way for the design phase and necessary technical calculations.

Once operational, the complex is expected to produce up to 50,000 tons of LAB per year, a key raw material used in synthetic detergents and household chemicals.
