Jordanian Prime Minister boosts economy & investment at WEF

Davos, 19 January 2023 (TDI): According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister of Jordan, Bisher Al Khasawneh is participating in the 53rd World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Jordan’s Agenda in WEF 

The goal of the Premier of Jordan is to support the nation’s economy and current businesses, attract new ones, and foster entrepreneurship.

Al Khasawneh studied the 10-year comprehensive modernization project of political, public sector, and economic tracks.

He is meeting with political and economic leaders, heads of major international institutions, and entrepreneurs at the WEF 2023. During his visit, Al Khasawneh is discussing the Kingdom’s investment climate with Davos 2023 attendees.

The Prime Minister also reviewed the Kingdom’s procedures to improve the investment environment and remove barriers to investment and business.

Important Appointments of Bisher Al Khasawneh in Davos 23

The Prime Minister met with Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Al Khasawneh expressed the Kingdom’s pride in Jordan’s partnership with the bank.

EBRD is one of the most significant economic supporters in the public and private sectors. Renaud-Basso stated the bank’s desire to increase its involvement and financial investments in Jordan.

Additionally, the Prime Minister went to a panel discussion on the Arab economies. President Abdul Latif Rashid of Iraq and representatives from Arab financial, investment, and economic institutions were also present on the panel.

Additionally, the Premier met with WEF Chairman, Klaus Schwab and praised Schwab for his struggle to establish the forum.

He highlighted the importance of the forum’s themes, particularly strengthening international economic cooperation in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukrainian-Russian crisis.

Schwab expressed his gratitude for Jordan’s cooperation with the WEF and its hosting of several regional forum meetings. He praised Jordan’s efforts to achieve peace, security, stability, and prosperity in the region.

Bisher Al-Khasawneh also met with Christina Georgieva, Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, to discuss continuing cooperation to consolidate financial and monetary stability, reduce unemployment, and raise citizens’ living standards.
