Pakistan marks March 23rd as the National Day or Pakistan Day to remember the Lahore Resolution which was adopted on March 23, 1940.
It was the first official statement of the All India Muslim League calling for a separate, independent Muslim homeland.
Each year, Pakistan’s diplomatic missions abroad organize events around the Pakistan Day and invite host countries’ dignitaries as well.
This year, Pakistan Embassy in China held an elaborate celebration in Beijing, in the presence of China’s Vice Foreign Minister, Ambassador Sun Weidong.
