Japanese, Vietnamese counterparts discuss future collaboration

Vietnamese Prime Minister in Japan

Tokyo, 24 November 2021 (TDI): Japan’s Prime Minister, Kishida Fumio welcomed his Vietnamese counterpart, Pham Minh Chinh in Japan. He hosted a welcome ceremony in Tokyo, today.

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary shared in a press briefing that the meeting will garner personal trust equally, between the two leaders.

Chief Representative of the JICA Vietnam Office, Shimizu Akira called the visit an opportunity to enhance the friendship and partnership between the two countries.

Meeting with Hosoda Hiroyuki

Vietnamese Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Hosoda Hiroyuki, in Tokyo today.

During the meeting with Speaker, he congratulated the latter over his victory in the election for Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan.

He also emphasized exchanges and contacts between the legislative bodies of the two countries. While Japan also donated an additional 1.5 million doses of Covid19 vaccination to Vietnam after the meeting between Pham and Hosoda.

Earlier Vietnam’s Prime Minister also held talks with the President of the House of Councilors of Japan, Santo Akiko.

Visit of Japan

Prime Minister Pham landed in Japan at the invitation of his counterpart, Kishida Fumio on Monday for a 4-day official visit.

Pham Minh Chinh has been accompanied on the tour by Minister of National Defense, Phan Van Giang. Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son is also there in Japan as part of the delegation.

The visit will provide an opportunity for the Premier to discuss with leaders of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) and host leaders of major Japanese firms.
