KABUL, 8 September 2024 (TDI): Japanese Ambassador to Afghanistan Takayoshi Kuromaya Sunday called on Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate Mawlawi Abdul Kabir in Kabul.
Ambassador Kuromaya expressed condolences on the recent attacks in Kabul and condemned the incident.
At least six people were killed and 13 were injured in a suicide bombing earlier this week, sparking an international outcry.
During the meeting, the Japanese ambassador hailed the Afghanistan interim government’s efforts to combat narcotics and vowed Japan’s full support for Afghanistan.

On behalf of his government, the Japanese ambassador announced the allocation of $0.3 million to preserve Afghanistan’s historical heritage, including the National Museum in Kabul
He also highlighted that Japan will build 165 primary schools in nine provinces of Afghanistan.
The ambassador stressed Tokyo respects Afghan societal values and its commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir appreciated Japanese support and underlined the importance of the Kabul-Tokyo relationship for both countries.

He was optimistic about the speedy implementation of commitments made during the third Doha meeting and highlighted the Islamic Emirate’s dedication to fulfilling its promises independently.
The deputy PM confirmed the operational activities of the Supreme Anti-Narcotics Commission, which will coordinate with partner organizations to strengthen anti-drug efforts in the country.
