Kingston, 16 September 2021 (TDI): On behalf of the Government of Jamaica, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Kamina J Smith, presented a donation of medical supplies to the Government of Cuba on Wednesday.
The objective of the donation was to support the efforts of Cuba to fight against the COVID-19. Senator Smith explained that it was part of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) initiative to provide humanitarian assistance to Cubans to demonstrate solidarity and friendship. The package included medicines, disposable masks, syringes, and other pharmaceutical items.
Senator stated that the donation is a testament to the collaboration and relation between Jamaica and Cuba at all levels.
