Islamabad (TDI): Beginning the final day of the 6th International Young Diplomats School (IYDS), participants engaged in an insightful interactive dialogue with Raimundas Karoblis, the Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan.
The discussion focused on EU–Pakistan relations, the EU’s global priorities, and key areas of cooperation including governance, development, climate action, and trade.
Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the EU’s role as a leading multilateral actor and its engagement with Pakistan across various sectors.
As the 6th edition of IYDS, organized by the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS), concluded its three-day program, this session marked an important part of the participants’ final day of learning and diplomatic exposure.
Throughout the program, young professionals, students, and faculty members from across Pakistan interacted with ambassadors, diplomats, and representatives of international organizations, gaining deeper insights into global affairs, foreign policy, and international cooperation.
The concluding day further strengthened IYDS’s mission of fostering informed, globally engaged youth leadership and enhancing people-to-people linkages between Pakistan and the international community.
The school kickstarted on Tuesday, with the participation of a diverse group of aspiring diplomats, hailing from different regions of Pakistan.

On the first two days, the IYDS cohort engaged with several other diplomatic missions, including visits to the embassies of Austria, Russia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Kazakhstan, and the High Commission of Mauritius.
These engagements not only aim to deepen participants’ regional awareness but also empower them with the tools to think critically about global challenges and foreign policy strategy.
IYDS offers a unique bridge between academic study and diplomatic practice, equipping emerging leaders with practical insights and networks that extend beyond traditional classroom settings.
Established in December 2008, The Diplomatic Insight is Pakistan’s premier diplomacy and foreign affairs magazine, available in both digital and print formats.
