IRSOA Criticizes FBR for Lack of Consultation

-

Islamabad (TDI): The Inland Revenue Service Officers Association (IRSOA) represented over 1,300 officers, has rejected the Federal Board of Revenue’s recent transformation plan.

It was labeled as non-indigenous and lacking internal consultation.

The association announces its concerns in an official press release. That points to the absence of the officer’s involvement in the plan’s formulation and raising significant objectives to key components of the proposal.

Lack of Officer Consultation and Performance Concerns

IRSOA showed disappointment with the FBR’s failure to engage officers in the creation of the transformation plan. The association believes it compromises the transparency and effectiveness of the reforms.

IRSOA says that Pakistan believes in successful transformation. The plan must be the result of collaborative efforts. It adds the expertise of the officers on the ground. IRSOA has objected to the peer rating system that describes flaws and is prone to favoritism. FBR needs morale and cooperation within service.

Issues of Salaries, Resources, and Discrimination

IRSOA raised issues about inadequate salaries and logistical support that hampered the performance of officers in the country. Officers stressed the existing disparity between the Pakistan Customs Service and the Inland Revenue Service.

IRSOA claimed discriminatory treatment in terms of resource allocation and career progression. The association highlighted the urgent need to foster logistical support, internal auditing, and fair salary structures. That enables officers to do their duties effectively to contribute to improving the country’s revenue system.
