Dushanbe: July 14, 2021 –(TDI): Today Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Dushanbe. Both the leaders are on a visit to Central Asia to participate in the SCO foreign minister meeting.
On the sidelines of the SCO summit, the foreign ministers of China and Pakistan met and held a bilateral talk. This year China and Pakistan are celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties. Pakistani Foreign minister Shah Mahmood mentioned that he felt great to meet his Chinese counterpart on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
In the meeting both, sides discussed the progress on CPEC. FM Qureshi mentioned that he and Wang Yi discussed CPEC and also stated that both sides see CPEC as a transformational project where Pakistan and China collaborating closely to create a high-quality BRI impact.
Wang Yi and Qureshi also discussed the currently changing regional dynamics and exchanged views on the recent developments in Afghanistan. FM Shah Mahmood mentioned that he discussed the issue with Wang Yi and also mentioned the need to find a political solution to the matter.
Both China and Pakistan are Iron brothers and have a history of standing with each other in difficult times and also cooperate to ensure regional peace and stability. ‘Looking forward to the partnership between Pakistan and China that will help to maintain peace and stability, Qureshi stated after he met with Wang Yi.
