Beijing, 2 October 2021 (TDI): The Pakistani Embassy in China arranged a friendship cricket event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of friendly diplomatic relations between Beijing and Islamabad. The event was held on 1 October 2021, with the title “Iron Brothers Cricket Tournament.”
The event is an addition to the events celebrated to mark the two states’ 70 years-long friendship. Previous events include flag hand-over ceremony, marathon, and light show.
Teams from the Embassy of Pakistan, the Embassy of Sri Lanka, China Radio International, Pakistani professionals in Beijing, Chinese cricket clubs, and Pakistan Embassy College Beijing participated in the one-day Cricket Tournament. Moreover, the friendship cricket event and the China 72nd founding anniversary took place on the same day. The Sri Lankan Ambassador was a special guest of the event.

The winner of the Iron Brothers Cricket Tournament was the Embassy of Pakistan; the Pakistani Ambassador Moin ul Haque was leading the Pakistani Embassy team. At the successful end of the event, the Ambassador thanked the government of China and the Administration of Sports for assisting and supporting the embassy in organizing the tournament.
While speaking to the audience at the prize distribution ceremony, Moin ul Haque highlighted the all-weather friendship of the two states. He notified various celebrations on the 7-decade of China-Pakistan friendship that took place all over the year.
Ambassador Moin also appreciated the participation and interest of the Chinese Cricket Association in the game and offered the role of Pakistan in the popularity of cricket in China. Chinese performers performed at the prize distribution ceremony, and Ambassador Moin presented Made in Pakistan cricket bats to Chinese teams.
