Tehran, 4 October 2023 (TDI): Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amirabdollahian, held a significant meeting with Mustafa Sanu, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), during the 37th Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.
The meeting aimed to discuss key issues and exchange views on matters of mutual interest.
Amirabdollahian emphasized the pivotal role of the Islamic Jurisprudence Council in the evolving landscape of the region.

He stressed the importance of increased interactions among intellectuals within the Islamic world to strengthen Islamic unity and address the various challenges faced by the Islamic Ummah.
Furthermore, Amirabdollahian underscored the need for consensus and coordination to effectively deal with emerging movements and offensive actions, such as insults to holy entities and Islamic values.
He expressed Iran’s readiness to collaborate with the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly in addressing these challenges.
During the meeting, Sanu acknowledged the significant and influential role played by the Islamic Republic of Iran within the Islamic world.
He expressed gratitude for Iran’s valuable initiatives and efforts aimed at uniting the Islamic Ummah and promoting closer ties among Islamic sects.
Sanu also provided a comprehensive report on the actions and activities of the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly.

Sanu called for increased support from Iran for the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly and encouraged the participation of more Iranian scholars in the Assembly’s programs.
He recognized the invaluable contributions of Ayatollah Taskhiri in establishing and strengthening the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly, honoring his memory.
Both officials engaged in discussions about ways to enhance interactions and cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly, further solidifying their partnership in addressing the challenges and opportunities within the Islamic world.
