Tehran, 18 September 2023 (TDI): Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi embarked on a journey to New York to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), leading a high-level political delegation.

The official escort accompanying him includes the First Vice-President and the Deputy of International Communications of the Office of the Supreme Leader.

During this crucial trip, President Raisi is slated to deliver a significant speech at the 78th session of the General Assembly.

Moreover, he will engage in meetings with several heads of countries who are participating in this international gathering.

Part of President Raisi’s agenda in New York includes articulating Iran’s positions on various global matters and responding to inquiries during meetings with influential individuals and groups encompassing political, social, religious, and media authorities in the United States.

Accompanying President Raisi are notable representatives, such as a delegate from the office of the Supreme Leader, Hojjat al-Islam Qomi, and Iran’s First Vice President, Mohammad Mokhbar, along with several ministers and delegate members.

Throughout his stay in New York, President Raisi is scheduled to address the General Assembly, interact with fellow heads of state, and deliver a speech to Iranian expatriates residing in the United States.

This visit provides an opportunity for Iran to elucidate its perspectives on various issues and engage in constructive dialogues.

The United Nations General Assembly’s annual meetings offer a valuable platform for international political consultation and facilitate bilateral dialogue due to the presence of high-ranking officials from across the globe.

The 78th session of the UNGA features the high-level General debate, scheduled from September 19th to September 23rd.

Leaders at the SDGs summit will assess the progress made in implementing the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, which encompasses the 17 SDGs.
