Muscat 26, April 26, 2023 (TDI): Dr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and his accompanying delegation arrived on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman.
Amir Abdollahian traveled to Oman at the request of Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
On Tuesday, at the embassy of Iran in Oman, Amir Abdollahian held a meeting with Mohammed Abdulsalam, the chief negotiator of Yemen’s National Salvation Government.
Mohammed Abdulsalam thanked Iran for providing humanitarian support to Yemen. He briefed Amir Abdollahian on the latest situation of talks with Saudi Arabia in Sana’a in different fields.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said Tehran welcomes any measure and initiative resulting in the removal of the blockade on Yemen, i.e., the establishment of the ceasefire and compromise among the Yemeni political groups.

Today, in a meeting with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Amir Abdollahian described the visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Muscat and the upcoming visit of the Sultan of Oman to Tehran as a turning point in bilateral relations in various sectors.
He expressed hope that the upcoming 20th session of the Joint Economic Commission, scheduled to be held in Tehran soon, would pave the way for closer cooperation between the two nations.
During the meeting, they discussed several issues on enhancing cooperation between the two countries, in addition to regional and international issues, especially Palestine, the Yemeni and Yemeni reconciliation, and the situation in Sudan.
Iranian Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian praised Oman’s policy of consolidating and strengthening relations with the regional countries.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian also appreciated Oman’s role in lifting sanctions on Iran.
The sultanate of Oman has serious initiatives for the Iranian nuclear deal that will contribute to returning to the negotiations.
The two ministers also discussed the date of Haitham bin Tarik’s visit to Iran based on an official invitation extended by President Raisi.
