Iran Showcases Naval Technology at PIMEC 2025

Karachi (TDI): A senior military delegation from Iran has arrived in Karachi to take part in the Pakistan International Maritime Exhibition and Conference (PIMEC 2025) and hold talks with senior Pakistani defense officials.

The delegation, headed by Captain Dariush Eskandari, landed at Jinnah International Airport earlier today, where they were welcomed by Pakistani representatives and Colonel Mohammad Mohsen Shahabi, Iran’s military attaché in Islamabad.

This marks the first time Iran is formally participating in Pakistan’s leading maritime exhibition. The Iranian contingent will present the country’s latest achievements in defense and naval technologies through a national pavilion, underscoring Tehran’s advancements in indigenous military and marine industries.

The opening ceremony of PIMEC 2025, organized under the auspices of the Pakistan Navy, is being attended by naval chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, government officials, and representatives from 44 countries. The three-day exhibition features 150 local and 28 international exhibitors, including major defense and maritime firms.

A diverse range of participants from Pakistan and abroad are showcasing cutting-edge innovations in shipbuilding, navigation, coastal security, and marine technology. The event serves as a key platform for industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and researchers to exchange ideas and explore joint ventures.

According to a statement from the Pakistan Navy, PIMEC provides a unique opportunity for both public and private sector entities to expand cooperation in the maritime domain and strengthen regional ties.

In a media briefing ahead of the event, Rear Admiral Mohammad Faisal Abbasi, Commander of the Karachi Naval Area, announced that a two-day International Maritime Conference will also run alongside the exhibition.

The conference will focus on the theme: “Harnessing the Potential of the Blue Economy for Sustainable Development,” bringing together experts and decision-makers from across the globe.
