Tehran (TDI): Iran will not enter negotiations with the United States amid the ongoing conflict, the country’s security chief Ali Larijani said on Monday, dismissing reports that Tehran was seeking to revive talks with Washington.
In a post on X, Ali Larijani, a former adviser to Iran’s late Supreme Leader, said Iran’s position was clear, adding that negotiations with the US were not under consideration as hostilities continued.
Meanwhile, fresh air strikes hit an Iraqi military base housing the pro-Iran armed group Kataeb Hezbollah, according to AFP.
“Three strikes hit Jurf al-Nasr,” the report said, referring to a key base south of Baghdad that has been repeatedly targeted since the start of the US-Israeli campaign against Iran.
In Kuwait, air defense systems intercepted multiple drones approaching the capital Kuwait City, according to official statements carried by local media.

Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Mansouri said Kuwaiti forces neutralised aerial targets with “high efficiency” as they entered the operational zone near Salwa and Hawalli, close to Kuwait City. No injuries were reported.
In Lebanon, President Joseph Aoun warned that rocket attacks launched by Hezbollah from Lebanese territory were undermining efforts to keep the country out of the widening regional conflict.
He condemned Israeli strikes on Lebanon but cautioned against Lebanon being used again as a launchpad for wars “unrelated to us,” warning such actions could expose the country to renewed danger.
Residents in southern Lebanon fled north after Israeli strikes responded to Hezbollah rocket fire. Heavy traffic clogged roads leading to the coastal city of Sidon, with families evacuating in cars loaded with belongings and mattresses tied to rooftops.

In Washington, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is scheduled to hold a press conference at 1300 GMT on Monday on the joint US-Israeli military campaign against Iran, the first briefing by a senior US official since the strikes began on Saturday. The Pentagon said Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will also participate.
The rapidly expanding conflict has raised fears of a broader regional war as strikes, counter-strikes, and military alerts intensify across the Middle East.
