Iran, 2 August 2022 (TDI): The Iranian government has said that it is more than ready to engage in cooperation with Venezuela in all technological areas. The vice President for Science and Technology, Sorena Sattari met with the Venezuelan Minister of Science, Gabriela Jiménez in Iran.

The aim of the meeting
The meeting aimed at assessing the cooperation problems in order to strengthen bilateral relations. During the meeting, the two officials discussed cooperation in many areas of technology, particularly in pharmaceuticals and medicine.
Iran has accomplished important capability in human and vaccine supply. This was possible with the help of knowledge-based companies. Sattari said that there is room for technology development and commercialization of many vaccines essential to the country.
He also said that the knowledge-based companies were able to research and develop beyond the government sectors. Therefore, knowledge-based companies many vaccines in the country.
The meeting aimed at solving the problems of financial exchanges between the two countries. Therefore, bilateral relations can help address these problems. In addition to this, over 75 knowledge-based companies have announced their willingness to take part in this event and also for building such cooperation.
On the other hand, Jiménez stated that Venezuela is interested in Iran’s capabilities in areas of medical and health equipment, animal husbandry technologies, cultivation of medicinal plants, animal health, and health drugs. It is also interested in Iran’s abilities in agriculture, advanced materials, and the environment.
Jiménez emphasized that Iran is more than able to help Venezuela in the health sector. She said, “The pharmaceutical sector has faced the most damage due to sanctions and we need raw materials and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
She also said that Venezuelan researchers will travel to Iran for scientific interaction. This trip will take place to happen in August 2022.

The researchers will conduct their scientific interaction at the Royal Institute where they will share their scientific experiences with the Iranian scientists. An area of interest during this trip is stem cells.
