Iran, Oman discusses bilateral relations, Gaza, embassy attack

Tehran, 10 April 2024 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Iran, Hossein Amirabdollahian has met and held talks with his Omani counterpart, Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi discussing bilateral relations, diplomacy Gaza, and the Iranian embassy attack.

During this meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction with the political relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman.

He has voiced hope for expanded bilateral cooperation and relations in line with the evolving political process between the two countries in all fields.

In line with this, he emphasized the need for serious and diligent follow-up on the implementation of previous negotiations and related agreements.

On the other hand, Omani Foreign Minister Al-Busaidi announced Oman’s willingness and readiness to enhance relations between the two countries to a level commensurate with their excellent capacities.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the commercial and tourism fields, as well as that of the private sectors of the two countries.

Furthermore, both dignitaries have acknowledged the activities of the joint commission of the two countries, as well as emphasized that more active joint committees would yield further concrete and positive results in various dimensions of mutual ties.

Diplomacy Gaza

Iranian Minister Amirabdollahian has shown deep concern over the ongoing war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank with all-out US backing.

He earnestly called for collective and stronger actions by Islamic countries to halt this killing machine.

Particularly, he praised Muscat’s recent action in accepting a group of wounded Palestinians for medical treatment.

Iranian embassy attack

The Iranian Minister expressed gratitude for the condolences, sympathy, and condemnation of the Zionist regime’s attack on the diplomatic building of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus.

The Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs also condemned the Zionist regime’s attack on Iran’s diplomatic building in Damascus.

He further described it as a violation of treaties and diplomatic immunities and as an act of aggression.

Moreover, he expressed sympathy with the government, and people of Iran, and the families of the victims.

Lastly, other dimensions and issues of mutual concern at bilateral, regional, and international levels have also been discussed.
